2016 GSA Pre-Conference Workshop

The RCMAR National Coordinating Center at UCLA will be holding a pre-conference workshop at this year's Gerontological Society of America's annual meeting at the Sheraton New Orleans and Marriott New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana. This year's meeting will focus on a didactic and interactive workshop providing a comprehensive overview of the impact of stigma on the health of diverse elder populations, theoretical models linking stigma and health outcomes, and strategies for developing interventions to address stigma and its negative impacts on the physical, mental, and social health of elder minority populations. The workshop will include opportunities to network with new and established investigators and to discuss the implications of intersecting minority statuses (e.g., ethnic, disability, sexual orientation) on the experiences of stigma across the life course.
